I am more biased to water and whatnot, and yet I still agree with Mo on the forest stairway! Definitely.

Also for the title, Tales from the Forest's Edge definitely sounds the best imo, it also fits with the pic as a bonus.
I was going to say the exact same thing then Hell said it first. Bad Hell!

Anyway, yeah, the stairs with the title Tales from the Forest's Edge seems most appropriate.

Got the gaming notebook linked in the first post, yesterday in the mail. Posting to LM with it right now!

It's huge! But it's got a full sized keyboard which I need for my giant hands. Also bought a Logitech wireless mouse because I hate touch pads. The size and weight aren't really an issue however as its main purpose is for taking on road trips to visit family (who all have suck gaming computers but high speed DSL/cable.)

Currently installing Diablo 3, then I'll start on downloading Steam games. It's actually much more powerful than either Throbble or my desktop computers. And, I'm not sure, but I think I may qualify to get a free copy of Boarderlands: The Pre-Sequel because the notebook comes with a GeForce GTX 870m.

Also, it's called a "notebook", not a "laptop", apparently because it will burn your lap... ARGH, I CAN FEEL THE POWER IN MY THIGHS!

Nice butt-bell.
Yeah, we all got cow bells to ring instead of clapping during the ceremony. We also got travel cups with our names on them to hold our cocktails and beer cozys that said, "To have and to hold and to keep your beer cold."

Throbble and I went to a wedding in the middle of June. The bride and groom reserved an entire campground, 450+ guests, full restaurant kitchen staff on site, all the free booze you could keep down, and some very special candies made things really interesting.

Here is the only picture of me at the wedding that doesn't include some type of illicit substance in my hand:

No. I did most of the work.

I assume you mean after the baby was freed from the womb? Because the nine months prior is a hell of a lot of work.

Well, it's not a pic OF me smiling, but I'm sure I was smiling when I took it. She's adorable as fuck.
Wait, you helped make something that cute? I'm dubious.

And just so I don't get the not-smiling comment, I got one where I am smirking too, so goddammit close enough. As you can tell I look better when I'm not smiling. :P
Until you post a pic of you actually smiling we can never know if it looks better or not.

EDIT: Frankly, I think you look better in the picture where you are smirking.

Here we go again! I thought the Marauders set might look pretty cool when I got the pants and boots.  Now I have the shoulders and can get the full set bonus with my ring and it really kicks ass but... Blizza' Pleeze!
Very cool! Can't wait to see him in action. Throbble and I just got home from a wedding in Boston so we should see you online this week hopefully.

I bought a 2 TB HD and Win 7 64-bit so I could play Wolfenstein: The New Order. Not, only can I now play a game that I didn't read the system requirements for when buying it, but I also get the bonus of utilizing all 8 Gigs of RAM for the first time since I built this computer 2 years ago.

I'm sure the clerk at the store tried to explain why I should get a 64-bit OS instead of a 32-bit but I like to get drunk before I work on or build computers so I probably told him to fuck himself.

Anyway, here is my new desktop. It keeps scaring Throbble and I:

No peripheral vision for you!

The mods on it are pretty nice though. May want to reroll the elemental arrow damage boost but otherwise, kick-ass!

The newest PTR 2.1 patch notes are up.

One thing really caught my eye so I decided to do a comparison.

Quote
Crusader

Passive Skills

Heavenly Strength

Now reduces your damage dealt by 20% while wielding a two-handed weapon

This is in response to an increase in damage to all two-handed melee weapons and the goal is for the damage of Crusaders using Heavenly Strength to stay the same or increase slightly

Before Patch 2.1

2-Handed Weapon Damage: 2,624.9
Sheet DPS: 415,083

After Patch 2.1

2-Handed Weapon Damage: 3,250.5
Sheet DPS: 408,513

Why they want to drop my Crusader's damage by 6,570 points is beyond me. At least the increase in 2-handed weapon damage is retroactive.

I see two potential problems with the GodSpire aspect: Turn based combat and the fact that the only multiplayer aspect advertised is coop.

Not playing yet, but my next game will be the new Divinity title in a couple of weeks.
I know someone who got in on the beta for that game. I'll get some feedback from him next time I see him.

I've been up on the Public Test Realm trying out some of the major changes coming in patch 2.1.

Demon Hunter

Defensively he gets a big boost to his armor and his resists remain unchanged. The loss of dodge doesn't seem to have any major impact since his main attack is Strafe which keeps him constantly moving.

Two major changes to skills allows me to replace two of my passive skills for more offensive ones which actually worked out really well.

Preparation (Punishment) no longer costs Discipline and now just has a cool down. Since that was the only skill I had that required Discipline, I no longer need Night Stalker to build Discipline up so I replaced it with Blood Vengeance which increases max Hatred and Health Globes restore resources (just like his Reaper's Wraps!).

Perfectionist reduces the cost of skills that cost Discipline but I kept it because it also increases armor and resists by 10%.

They also changed Awareness to be more like the Wizards passive Near Death Experience (instead of increasing armor it restores you to life if you die). So I changed that to Sharpshooter because you can never have too many crits.

Monk

In patch 2.1 the skill One With Everything has been changed to Harmony which basically changes the mechanic of how specific resist item mods (ie "+100 Poison Resistance") affect to monks resist all. Basically, instead of taking the highest single resist and applying it to all resists, it applies 30% of any specific resist mod and applies it to all.

So, if you have three items, one with +100 poison resist, one with +100 cold, and one with +100 fire, a total of 90 (30+30+30) will be added to all resists.

Here is a comparison of my poison resist monk's defensive skills before and after patch 2.1:

Before patch 2.1
Quote
Dodge: 52.6%

Armor: 7,619 (68.52%)

Resist All: 1,308 (78.89%)

After patch 2.1
Quote
Dodge: 29.4% (from Mantra of Evasion)

Armor: 12,898 (78.66%)

Resist All Except Poison: 647 (64.89%)
Poison Resist: 1,308 (78.89%)

So, basically, it reduces my dodge by 23.2% which makes Mantra of Evasion (Backlash) about half as effective. It raises my armor by 10.14% but reduces all my resists (except poison) by 14%. Overall these changes reduce my monk's defenses. Thanks Blizzard!

Just got Shadowrun Returns on steam for my birthday.

I remember Shadowrun, though I never played it. Probably had too many games on my plate when it came out. New one looks cool though, I think I'll pick it up.

Happy Birthday!

I think I still have a copy of the Atari 2600 E.T. game around somewhere. I actually beat it with the help of a walkthrough that my mom's co-worker got off the internet. He also got me the walkthrough for the Raiders of the Lost Ark game. Keep in mind, this was in 1982, so I was the only kid in town who beat those games.

I think it was still DARPANET (or ARPANET, depending on who you ask) back then.

A digital download for D1 is long over due and if it weren't for games like D1 I'd get a new computer without a CD drive.
How many of you use your CD drive?

Used the DVD drive to install Wolfenstein The New Order a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I didn't read that it requires a 64 bit OS and I got Win 7 32 bit. Whoops.

Congrats! I've been searching for one of those, I got a couple pieces of the IK set that would benefit from that ring.
