Title: sound barrier
Post by: nathan on May 06, 2006, 01:50:15 PM
Have you ever seen a sound barrier? This only happens at the instant an aircraft exceeds the speed of sound and it literally looks like the aircraft goes through a wall.

Those clouds have nothing to do with the "sound barrier"

explanation (http://web.archive.org/web/20050218035703/fluidmech.net/tutorials/sonic/prandtl-glauert-clouds.htm)

A sonic boom is the only evidence that an object is traveling at supersonic speeds.
Please do proper research on subjects before posting them here so that we don't turn LM into a house of lies!
