Defence of the ancients is a hero on hero battle. There are two sides and you pick from a set of heroes and try to destroy the other teams base. Both teams also have a set of creeps. Its really fun try it.

Since the only one on the list that i have actually played is starcraft its going to be hard to discuss the other rts games  <_<

Warlords Battlecry 3 is also a really good rts.

Have to say WC3 since I also love DOTAs =D

Tho I have to say that if you wait for like this long - , yea that long, then I have you know that Middle Earth is soon out and it's outmatched any other rts I've ever seen. There have been 1 trailer about the game every month for 7 months and they show how great this game really is. It is tho not very traditional since you don't get an interface (the bottom of the screen isn't a panel where you choose buildings and such). This is all new thinking.

I think that Middle Earth, that's something you should look into.

Total Annihilation is by far the best RTS game ever made...WC3 while i well made game doesn't come close.  TA had the best units best buildings ...best everything.  Too bad they never made a proper sequal to it...Kingdoms was no good.  Age of Empires 2 was very fun as well...

CnC Generals is fun ...Red Alert was better.
