Diablo 3 Polls
« on: November 14, 2012, 05:45:25 PM »
Forgot to post a link to the recent Blizzard poll asking people to vote for the Monster Power level that the prefer to play.

I picked Monster Power 2  (though I'm sure that will go up as I get better equipment). Anyway, here are the results:

What Monster Power Level Do You Prefer? (Ended 11/13/12)
Quote
No Monster Power   7%
Monster Power 1   13%
Monster Power 2   11%
Monster Power 3   17%
Monster Power 4   15%
Monster Power 5   18%
Monster Power 6   7%
Monster Power 7   5%
Monster Power 8   2%
Monster Power 9   0%
Monster Power 10  6%

A new poll question was posted today:

Poll 11/14/12 - 11/20/12: Who's the Greatest "Great Evil"?

Not sure how I'm going to vote yet. I'll have a lengthy discussion on the subject this evening with Throbblefoot before I decide.

Baal, Lord of Destruction   26%
Mephisto, Lord of Hatred   27%

New poll posted today:

Poll 11/28/12 - 12/5/12: Which Act I Environment is Your Favorite?

Basically they mean "tileset" in NWN terms but sectioned it into different areas. I'm voting "Festering Woods" because I really like the jungle feel it has.

I like the gothic feel and music of New Tristram, so that's where I voted.

This was my thoughts on it. See if you count the spelling errors!

My favorite is not one of the options, probably because it is so small. The Highlands Passage between Halls of Agony 2 and 3. It's a wonderfully rendered area, where you cross a rooted stone bridge whose supports vanish into the misty river far below. Though for my vote it has to be the cathedral. It's not just eye candy. It reacts to your presence. Bits of the floor falls away as you get too close and it makes the most use of interactive environment in the crumbling walls and chandeliers that you can use as traps with the right timing. The later acts have very little of this and other than the act 2 sewers and aqueducts the traps are just a handful of placeables. So here's something to make a note on for Act 5 Blizzard, More practical, interactive scenery!

This is something I felt Blizzard really dropped the ball on. It's like the cathedral is the only tileset where they really put effort into making the interactive environment strategically useful. Hell, there is even an achievement specifically for dropping chandeliers on enemies, and the only place to find chandeliers in the entire game is the cathedral. There is a serious lack of strategically interactive environments in the other acts (and even in the rest of act 1).

Results for the first favorite environment poll (My choice came in 3rd wtf?!):

Which Act I Environment is Your Favorite? (Ended 12/5/12)
Quote
New Tristram   5%
Old Tristram Road   7%
The Weeping Hollow   4%
Cemetery of the Forsaken   9%
Tristram Cathedral   17%
Fields of Misery   7%
Festering Woods   13%
Caverns of Araneae   1%
Northern / Southern Highlands   11%
Leoric's Manor   11%
Halls of Agony   14%

New poll:

Poll 12/4/12 - 12/11/12: Which Act II Environment is Your Favorite?

Same question, different act. I picked Dahlgur Oasis because it's unique in look and feel and there are a bunch of random events, random dungeons, and odd nooks to explore.

It's also one of the few places where you can be easily killed by the environment if you play recklessly. (Inhale some of that sweet sweet Moon Seed. MMM mmm. Good stuff.)

Results from last poll:

Which Act II Environment is Your Favorite? (Ended 12/11/12)
Quote
Caldeum   4%
Sundered Canyon   0%
Howling Plateau   1%
Black Canyon Mines   3%
Stinging Winds / Khasim Outpost   1%
Road to Alcarnus / Alcarnus   4%
Sewers of Caldeum / Flooded Causeway / Ruined Cistern   2%
Dahlgur Oasis   34%
Ancient Waterway / Waterlogged Passage / Hidden Aqueducts   3%
Desolate Sands   14%
Archives of Zoltun Kulle   24%
Imperial Palace   6%
The Hidden Camp   3%

New poll:

Poll 12/12/12 - 12/19/12: Which Act III Environment is Your Favorite?

Same question, different act (again). I picked The Battlefields as it's one of the only two wide open areas in Act 3 (the other being Fields of Slaughter) and it's nothing but random dungeons and events. The other areas are all cramped and Fields of Slaughter is too packed with catapults to have more than one random event.

Quote
Bastion's Keep Stronghold / The Armory   7%
Skycrown Battlements / Stonefort   12%
The Keep's Depths / The Larder   30%
The Battlefields / Bridge of Korsikk   8%
Fields of Slaughter   9%
Rakkis Crossing   7%
Edge of the Abyss   1%
Arreat Crater   6%
Tower of the Damned / Tower of the Cursed   11%
Heart of Sin / The Core of Arreat   7%

New poll:

Poll 12/19/12 - 12/26/12: Which Act IV Environment is Your Favorite?

Same question, different act (again). I don't really see the point of this poll since there are only really two (somewhat) randomized areas, Gardens of Hope and Silver Spire, and those areas are split into two each. I voted for Gardens of Hope. I would have voted specifically for Gardens of Hope 2nd Tier because it's the only area in all of Act 4 where you can get random dungeons but they don't allow that choice.

Results from last poll (A tie!):

Which Act IV Environment is Your Favorite? (Ended 12/26/12)
Quote
Vestibule of Light   4%
Gardens of Hope   19%
Library of Fate   7%
Crystal Collonade   5%
Hell Rifts   12%
Silver Spire   17%
Great Span   6%
Pinnacle of Heaven   11%
Crystal Arch   19%

New poll:

Poll 1/2/13 - 1/9/13: Which Follower Accompanies You?

I went with Lyndon, the Scoundrel, because I have two critical hit based builds and he's the only one with critical hit based skills. Eirena, the Enchantress, is a close seconds because of the attack speed boost and the ability to turn enemies into chickens.

Quote
Kormac, the Templar   33%
Eirena, the Enchantress   40%
Lyndon, the Scoundrel   26%
I can understand people preferring the attack speed boost from the Enchantress over the critical hit skills of the Scoundrel (I guess) but why the fuck is that lame-ass Templar so popular?!

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 1/9/13 - 1/16/13: Which Realm of Pure Evil Encounter is Your Favorite?

I voted "Siege Breaker and Zoltun Kulle (Realm of Turmoil)" because they are the least annoying ueber boss pair to fight. Th.eir arena gives you room to move around and you aren't being spammed by Maghda's bugs or Ghom's farts. Both mechanics that I find very aggravating.

King Leoric and Maghda (Realm of Discord)   40%
Ghom and Rakanoth (Realm of Chaos)   35%
Siege Breaker and Zoltun Kulle (Realm of Turmoil)   26%

I have no idea why the least annoying battle got last place.

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 1/16/13 - 1/23/13: Do You Participate in Public Test Realms?

There are 6 options. Not sure what I'm going to choose but I haven't found any reason to participate in the PTR so far.

Results from last poll:

Do You Participate in Public Test Realms? (Ended 1/23/13)
Near tie between "yes" and "no". (I suspected as much.)
Quote
Yes, I love participating in PTRs.   21%
Yes, but not that frequently.   30%
No, I prefer to wait until patches are live.   28%
No, I don't understand the point of PTRs.   2%
I've never played on a PTR, but I'd like to.   11%
I've never played on a PTR, and I don't intend to.   8%
I think I ended up choosing the last option. ("...I don't intend to.") Why spend my time on something that will just get wiped?

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 1/23/13 - 1/30/13: Are You Going to Use the New Dueling System?

Again, way too many options. Instead of "Yes", "No", and "Undecided" they came up with 8 answers! I chose the top answer witch was the most "yes" I guess.

Whoops, missed a poll. It was kind of a lame one anyway, like they couldn't come up with a good one that week.

Anyway, here are the results of the last two polls:

Poll: Are You Going to Use the New Dueling System? (Ended 1/30/13)
Looks like people were just as confused as I was by the shear number of "yes" or "no" options. However, it looks like the "yes"s one.
Quote
Yes! I look forward to hearing the cries of my vanquished foes. 22%
Yup, but it's not going to be something I focus on. 15%
Sure. I might try it out once or twice. 14%
Maybe. I like PvP, but I'm not a big fan of dueling in Diablo III. 9%
Nah, I'm not really interested in dueling. 12%
No way! I don't like PvP of any kind. 7%
No, but I might, if the current system was changed. 19%
Undecided. 2%

Poll: Do You Watch Diablo III Streams? (Ended 2/6/13)
Sounds gross. I voted "yes" because I've watched a few.
Quote
Yes, I watch streams. 45%
No, I don't watch streams. 31%
Not yet, but I'd love to start. 6%
Not anymore, but I used to. 18%

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 2/6/13 - 2/13/13: Who's Your Favorite Diablo III Villain?

I voted for the one that is way out in the lead currently. But I wonder about why some were left off, like Izual, Jondar, and (spoiler) Adria.

Won by a landslide! He's the only one with any personality in this game. Reminds me of Halaster.

Here are the results of the last poll:

Who's Your Favorite Diablo III Villain? (Ended 2/13/13)
Quote
Skeleton King 13%
Queen Aranaea 1%
The Warden 1%
The Butcher 12%
Maghda 2%
Zoltun Kulle 21%
Belial 12%
Ghom 3%
Siegebreaker Assault Beast 4%
Cydaea 6%
Azmodan 7%
Rakanoth 5%
Diablo 13%

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 2/13/13 - 2/20/13: Which New 1.0.7 Recipes Are You Going to Craft?

All of them, duh.

Diablo might have won if he wasn't a stupid bitch and learned that he was cooler when he kept his mouth shut.

Apart from that, he deserves a more badass voice. I personally think someone fucked up and accidentally swapped his voice and dialogue with Azmodan's early in development. A giant baby would be scarier.

Archon Spaulders of [Dexterity, Intelligence, Strength, Vitality] 13%

I'm not going to craft any of recipes. 8%

Anyway, new poll:

Poll 2/27/13 - 3/6/13: Who's Your Favorite Angiris Council Member?

I voted "Malthael, the Archangel of Wisdom" because he is the only angel who realizes how much of a pack of douches all the other angels are and he got the fuck out of there. I hope he's in the expansion (assuming there will be one).

Not sure what's up with the sporadic nature of the polls. Can't even find the results from the last couple.

Poll 4/17/13 - 4/24/13: Poll: What's Your Favorite Shrine?

I picked "Fortune" which is currently second to last place, just ahead of "Blessed".

I stopped participating in the polls a while ago and this latest one justifies that yet again. The most recent ones have just been stupid but this one... *sigh* It's "Protection" not "Blessed." Someone please get them an editor.

No shit. It gives the community the feeling that they got one person who checks in once a week to do maintenance.
