Too many games to place too little time.

Dragon Age will be coming out in Nov.

I couldn't finish Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Me neither.  Started that one never got into it.  FPS have really worn me out.  Same old thing since the original Wolfenstein.  Gets old after a while.  Same thing with RTS.

How's the game?  I saw Inglorious Basterds a few days ago.  Man that's a good movie.  Certainly puts you in the mood to kill Nazis!

Umm where are the Nazis?
That's a silly question, they are dead of course.

The game is pretty fun and actually very satisfyingly gory. Nothing like blowing off a Nazi's adam's apple and watching him grip his throat and gurgle as he slowly slumps to the ground. Nice effects like bullet wounds, Nazi's falling over railings and body parts flying in all directions when a grenade goes off (even if they are already dead).

I finished the game within a week and I plan to play through again at a higher difficulty (played the second lowest difficulty) one of the minigames involves searching for ancient tomes and Nazi gold during missions and around the city between missions. With the gold you can buy upgrades to your weapons, there are 9 weapons each with multiple upgrades, you can see in the screenshots I've added a silencer, scope and muzzle vents to my rifle.

In addition to the weapons (both traditional and sci-fi) there are powers you gain as you progress through the game, like a power that slows time or one that creates a mobile shield. These powers can also be upgraded with new abilities, like the one that makes your shots more powerful can be upgraded to pass through walls, which you can see through if you have an upgrade to the sight power.

The feel of the game is quite clearly an homage to Indiana Jones, some of the music, like at the dig sight, actually made me laugh because of how similar it was to Raiders of the Lost Arc music. With the weapon and power upgrades it also feels like Deus Ex, and since you can't afford to buy every upgrade it's another reason to play through a second time. Have no fear, it's still good old fashioned Wolfenstein at heart, you'll recognize some classic elements from the earlier games.
