Or you could just make your album private and link me to the image anyway, in which case, I would only be able to see that single image, or only an image you link to. That is the way my account is, just try looking at my album and see for yourself.

Also, what is the file type of the image you're trying to use?

I've tried it gif and jpeg anywhere from 100x100 to 150x200 and I think I did 50x50

Well, those image types should be okay, and the sizes are obviously fine but it would scale them even if they weren't. Also, the file size doesn't matter since it's off-site. You say you followed the examples I gave exactly, so it should work. The only reason I can think that it wouldn't is if you have something in your url wrong.

You could provide the url of the image you're trying to use and just remove your album name with an asterik or something similiar and I still wouldn't be able to get to your album unless you told me what it was. Not that I would want to look at it regardless. But at least that way I could get a look at the url you're trying to use to see if there's anything wrong there.

EDIT: You know, I just thought about it. It really doesn't matter if I know what your album is or not anyway, since having your avatar link to it would tell me the url if I just right clicked on it and viewed the source. Don't really see why it matters regardless, though.

Haha, nice image. Thanks for the help, Mo.

Anyway, Meclar, I'm not sure if you used img tags on purpose or not, but if you were just posting the url you've been trying to use, and didn't put the img tags there, then the url included bbcode. Your avatar requires only the url, it doesn't need image tags, so if you copied the url with them in it, or put them in there yourself, it won't work. If you added them yourself in that post just to show the image, I still have no idea what you were doing wrong.

The url for that image should look like this:
Code: [Select]
http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk426/erujuj/Frenzy.gif
NOT like this:
Code: [Select]
[img]http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk426/erujuj/Frenzy.gif[/img]
So was that your mistake, or was it something else?

Very odd then. I have to resort to the last possible explanation.

It must not like you. =P

Maybe you didn't click save after you copy pasted your url.

I thought of that too, but since he's been changing his avatar back to one of the default ones, he had to be doing it to save those ones. He also said he did exactly as the screenies showed, and the last one says to do that. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. lol.

Yeah I'm not dumb I've posted picturees and avatars on forums before lol.  And the profile actually saves any changes automatically if you watch and wait 20 seconds or so you don't even need to press the change profile button.

While that may be true on some forums, it's not the case on this one. As far as I've known it doesn't do that, and it doesn't say anywhere that it does it. I also just tested it by editing my location. I tried a few times. Each time I waited at least 20 seconds. The first time I waited 30, the second I waited 20, the third I waited over a minute. I refreshed on a different page to see if there were changes but there wasn't. I also tested it with my avatar.
As a further test, I waited a minute on the avatar, and left the page without clicking save after that minute, and it still didn't automatically save.

Why did you post it again?

Just put this in the text box and tell it to save your profile.

Actually it wasn't.  I fixed it again.  The URL you had saved there was not correct. Definitely not a direct link to the image file.

Figure red was more your color than black.

You still haven't figured out how to do it yet? lol.

Seriously though, I tried my best to help you. If you still can't figure it out, there's really not much else I can do. Though I would like it if you figured it out so that you can change your avatar whenever you want without problems.

I agree, Meclar does seem to make me think of the color red over any other. One reason Mo's is black is because of his GS character "Mo" who's outfit was largely black.

And yeah, I could make you an avatar if you like, just let me know. If you have a color or theme you prefer, that would be helpful.

I'm not new to this.  I've cut and pasted directly from the links photobucket gives me.

Mo's looks silver.

I know, you've said that, but I suspect you're cutting and pasting directly from the wrong links it's giving you. Mo said you had the wrong url in there when he changed it for you, so perhaps you're not copying the "Direct Link" but are instead copying something like the "IMG Code" link or the "IMG Thumb" link or one of the others?

It's not silver either. It's a white to black gradient.
