Yeah, I prefer the term pop.

However, it's not soda or pop in my eyes. It's truly "Soda-pop" and people like to call it soda or pop. I prefer pop, but hey... whatever works homies.

Club soda AKA carbonated water is the main ingredient in all of them, so it's all soda!  Unless you're in Russia and you ask for a Sprite or 7 UP, they call that "Lemonade", crazy Ruskies.

Russia pwns.

As for soda, sounds like it was invented to have something to do with sodium, by the name. So I'd rather go with the pop, which I believe actually refers to the popping caused by the carbonated water, while the soda term does not.

Then again, that's just my un-researched theory! SO HA! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

i have never heard carbonated water pop. i've heard it fizz, but i've never heard it pop.

Pop is easyer to say and it sounds nicer. Soda sounds like a foreign name.

But what I want to know is wha the "other" refers to. Pop, soda, and coke all at least make sence. What do the green countys say?

"Give me some of the fake citrus flavored carbonated water that has yellow 7."

I like Mt. Dew..

Yeah, pop owns. Pop, popcorn, popsicle, poptart... seriously, it naturally belongs as pop. Simple as that.

@Elessar: Think opening can.

@Anheg: Others? Hmm... soft drinks maybe.. or maybe some old fogies who still call it "Soda-pop."

I used to like Dr. Pepper and Pepsi most, however, I quit drinking pop like... 10 months ago.

Though I still love pop, i gave it up about three months ago. I liked Coke the best, with Slice (or like Orange pops) easily as my second favorite.
